MJA Tigers
Competition/Demonstration Karate Team
MJA Tigers Competition/Demonstration karate team was formed by Sensei Michael J. Agbay in January of 2003. There are currently 24 members of the karate team and we are always recruiting new students. Since our inception we have competed in numerous tournaments in the Krane and IPPONE circuits.
We’ve also performed karate demonstrations for various events and fundraisers including the most recent for St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital February; Also Massachusetts DSS Foster Care, Heart To Heart (which helps children battling terminal illnesses), Sherry’s House/Why Me? (Kids and families dealing with cancer), various sports events and we are working on a stage production (Warrior Spirit) coming in 2010.
We’ve had several students who have become New England champions throughout the years. They’ve received their rewards and recognition through IPPONE.
As we continue to move forward, our goal is to give every student recruited to represent the MJA Tigers an opportunity to compete in all of our scheduled karate tournaments, demonstrations and events. We teach them to use their gifts to help and encourage others.

activities when allowed. You will be given a quarterly events updated newsletter. You will receive a plaque of
appreciation with team picture that you can proudly post in your business. All Elite Silver & Gold Medal members
will receive all the above items plus a MJA Tigers Tour Jacket.
