Ron is a very good martial artist and has been going through our Instructor training program and is doing very well. He’s adapted to our style very easily. MJA Martial Arts

MJA Martial Arts was formed in 1994. Our school is located at 64 Main St. in Spencer, Massachusetts and serves the Worcester, Massachusetts area.

Our programs are designed to develop not only the physical skills of each student, but something more important - the development of their mental skills and personal values.

These include:

Courage:
Martial Arts teaches children to find the courage to move outside of their comfort zone. As they motivate themselves to take on more difficult karate moves and skills, they become no longer afraid of uncertain risk. As they do so, they learn that whatever tasks they set out to accomplish may be achieved.

Commitment:
The children find joy in improving their physical stamina. They can walk farther, run longer, and practice skills until they get them right. In turn, they learn not to give up. With the help of their instructor, they strive harder and longer to reach their goals. Even if they fail, they persevere. They won't let self-doubts get in the way of finding their ultimate solutions.

Improved Focus:
The children learn what's needed, along with the skill to “zero in” on critical tasks at hand. They don't allow normal, yet time-wasting, childhood distractions to get in their way.

Matthew 6:33 - Seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well.

Mission Statement:

We will provide quality Martial Arts Instruction for children, men and women in all our programs. We will teach our programs with honor and integrity. We will keep the traditional values of the Martial Arts, but utilize the modern teaching techniques to give the individual the best training that they can get. We promise to hold the value of what it means to earn and receive a Belt Rank. We will represent the true meaning of a Black Belt. We will provide our Martial Arts Programs as a lifestyle, not an activity, for complete physical and spiritual health. We are a Black Belt School.

Value Statement:

We believe in teaching all of our Martial Arts Programs by not selling our Belt Ranks. We encourage and put into action the importance of setting goals for ourselves as well as our students. All who receive a belt rank will have earned it. We will help every student to apply the principles of the Martial Arts in their daily lives outside the Dojo (training hall). All instructors must maintain their own training and workouts. All instructors are put through a continuous training and leadership programs with the highest standards in mind. We must practice what we preach.

Vision Statement:

MJA Martial Arts represents a higher standard in the Martial arts. We accept the challenges that Martial Arts training sets before us as well as the challenges that life brings us. We will take the Martial Arts world to another level - not by insulting or intimidating, but by being a peaceful warrior and encouraging all who want to hold up these standards. We are here as Instructors to point the way for the student. As instructors if we degrade what it means to be a Black Belt then we lie to ourselves as well as to our peers.
